James T. Hunt, Jr.
Everyone calls him Jim. He founded the firm after training as a Big Law attorney. He brings that preparation to injury cases for people who need someone willing to stand up to a large company or an insurer — and he is the attorney who calls you back.
A lawyer shaped by the idea of fighting back.
This is personal for Jim. He watched family and friends struggle through injuries and everything that came after, and went into this work to stand with people who are up against companies with far more money and far more lawyers.
At Swarthmore, Jim captained the varsity football team, and he draws a straight line from that to the courtroom — the discipline, the preparation, the refusal to quit. He has said that litigation and jury trials are very much like a battle on the football field.
When a case gets difficult, the work is to get back up and keep fighting.

The cases Jim takes on.
Jim handles serious injury claims across New York and New Jersey. He is the attorney who reads what you send and calls you back, and he stays on the case rather than handing it on.
Roads and vehicles
Car and truck collisions, motorcycle crashes, and people hit while walking or cycling. Jim has handled these across New York and New Jersey for his whole career.
Property and worksites
Falls on defective sidewalks and badly maintained property, and construction accidents where more than one contractor was on site.
Dog bites and serious injuries to children
Including cases where a child has been left with permanent scarring, which turn on facts from long before the day it happened.
If a case goes to trial, Jim tries it. He has said that litigation and jury trials are very much like a battle on the football field, and he prepares for them the same way.
A practice connected to the community.
Outside the office, Jim has volunteered as a youth coach in football, basketball, and baseball, served on the parish council of his local church, and serves as a board member and pro bono legal counsel for South Jersey Field of Dreams.
It is the same idea that runs through the firm: a person is more than a file, a claim number, or a problem to get off a desk.
Two offices, and most of it done by phone.
Jim works from Rochelle Park in Bergen County and 5 Penn Plaza in Manhattan. Most clients never need to visit either one — calls, email and signing can all be done remotely — but you are welcome to come in by appointment.
